The training program follows IMO Model Course 1.19. It covers updating knowledge and skills in identifying shipboard hazards and using life-saving equipment.

Training goal
The training aims to:
- Identify shipboard hazards
- Locate life-saving equipment
- Use pyrotechnic signaling devices
- Operate radio distress equipment
- Act appropriately in emergency situations
Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Valid certificate in individual rescue techniques OR certificate expired within 1 year
- 6 months of sea service within the last 5 years
- Sportswear, flip-flops, swim cap and tight-fitting swimsuit (no loose shorts/trousers allowed)
Certificate
Certificate issued by the Maritime Office, valid for 5 years, requires renewal at a training center.
